An industry that truly has a strategic and modern vision, that undertakes and invests in differentiated niche markets. With high value added products that meet the new consumer’s demand – the conscious consumer – concerned about product safety, and social and environmental issues. In 2005, the Group launched the Friboi line of Organic Beef, with beef produced by ABPO. Currently consisting of 15 types of specialty cuts, including the premier super congealed organic hamburger from Brazil.
WWF-Brazil: The objectives of this Brazilian non-governmental organization (NGO), dedicated to conserving nature, are to harmonize human activities with biodiversity conservation and promote sustainable development. The NGO is part of the World Wide Fund for Nature international conservation network and has played an important role in fortifying and supporting Organic Beef Certification. Since 2004, through the Pantanal Forever Program, WWF-Brazil has actively participated in supporting the certification of organic cattle ranches in the Pantanal. Acting as a mediator and articulator between each stage, researching markets and being a catalyst for discussing implementation and consolidation of CPCO.
The Biodinâmico Institute (IBD): The world-renowned certifying entity, together with ABPO and other CPCO agencies, go above and beyond their role of auditing and certifying. The IBD, in addition to certifying and auditing organic cattle ranches and the industrial beef processing plants, has been fundamental in the discussions regarding the implementation and consolidation of the production chain, in new market identification, and, together with WWF-Brazil, in the discussion of continual social and environmental improvements at all stages.
